AfroColombia NY and the Colombian Studies Group (CUNY Graduate Center) would like to invite you to a very special evening of solidarity and political strategy featuring a documentary “The War We Are Living”, part of the acclaimed PBS series Women, War & Peace, and conversation with Clemencia Carabali and Francia Marquez.
Afro-Colombian Leaders featured in the film.

The film highlights the efforts of two extraordinary Afro-Colombian women who are defying powerful mining interests and paramilitary death threats to protect their community and the land that sustains them. They are standing up for a generation of Colombians who have been terrorized and forcibly displaced as a deliberate strategy of war.
Simultaneous interpretation will be provided.
